Principal / Associate Engineer - Edinburgh
Skills, Knowledge and Experience:
- Be a Chartered structural engineer (MIStructE or FIStructE)
- Be an SER Approved Certifier of Design (building structures), Scotland
- Experience working in a structural engineering consultancy environment
- Experience of the seismic design/retrofitting of building structures
- Experience of developing the careers of junior members of staff
- Good attitude to health and safety practices within the workplace and in preparing design solutions
- Previous experience of working outside of the UK would be beneficial
- A strong commitment to knowledge acquisition and CPD
- Fully IT literate and proficient in the use of standard Microsoft Office products
- Have the ability to use structural engineering design software such as TEDDS, Tekla Structural Designer, AutoCAD and Autodesk Building Design Suite REVIT Structures
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills; able to communicate with clients, architects, contractors, other consultants (at all levels) and statutory authorities
- Strong reporting skills
- Ability to obtain UK government security clearance is a requirement of this role
